I currently have a cold and I think I remember reading somewhere that my cold can effect/transfer to my rats if I handle them. I was wondering if there is any truth to this? I'm sure there are certain things that can effect them but I wanna make sure me not handling them right now is the right thing to do or not. I hate not being able to cuddle with them. Luckily my husband has no problem caring for them

Absolutely not. There are very little things that are transmissable, unless you had strep pneumonia (not strep throat), or ringworm, there's not much else :)

Being sick with warm furry bodies is very comforting so indulge them and you

OMG what a relief! I'm usually skeptical of what I read on the internet so I like to be cautious until I get a second opinion. *runs to go snuggle my girls*

Wow, wish I had known that the last time I got strep throat, my poor ratties >> Haha.

I was constantly getting strep throat in college and luckily never passed it over to the rats despite a lot of handling.
