Hey everyone, I am making a list of all the rat vets in the maritimes for our rescue. I was going through some of the threads on here. But I'm not sure if everything is still up to date or not.

We don't seem to have an actual exotics vet anymore in Halifax as Dr. Don Benoit gave up his practice. There is another Dr. who is seeing the exotics at Fairview Animal Hospital in Halifax, but I'm not sure how experienced she is. (Can't remember her name...)

They are not at 19 Silverwood Court.

I don't know how knowledgable she is about exotics, so........

dont know her at all and havent heard anything good or bad. i doubt fairview would tout her as an exotic vet though if she didnt know some stuff.

Some vets have been recommended by one or two people while other people report (and can prove) horrible outcomes with the same vets.
In my opinion, I do not think vets with this type of mixed result should be recommended. I think that nothing should be publicly posted about them. It is difficult for people to get the informaton they need because the forum is afraid of legal action if anyone mentions anything negative about any vet.

This post is just a listing of vets recommended by people on the forum. It is still very important to do research for yourself. Ask questions and be informed about the vet you are dealing with.
