My lonely 4 month old guy needs a friend. :cuddle:

I found someone to adopt (a rex :) ) but he's 6 weeks old.

Is this too much of an age difference?

thank you for any advice that you guys can offer...

You can introduce them as soon as the younger one is big enough, usually at about 8 weeks old. Your boy is still young, the age difference is not that big. Is this the boy from Henry's Haven?

I adopted him from someone in Milton a month ago. I found the ad in Kijiji. She had both boys and girls(in sep cages of course) but when this little guy's cage mate died, she decided against keeping boys anymore.

He's come out of his shell some. He was skittish when the previous owner adopted him. She thought he was not handled much.

Does not go out of his way to be picked up. I have to lure him out of the cage with a treat, then scoop him up w/two hands. If I pick him up within reach of cage bars he hangs on, but does not panic when I detach him and he is happy to be held in my hands. Will really be a lap rat, this one.

I just realized this description doesn't answer your question ...lol. I just like the little guy.

Back to business....

I'll have to quarantine the 6 wk old in a separate room, I know. How long should this last? Maybe he will grow enough by the end of quarantine?

many thanks for your answers
