When I checked on my rat yesterday, there was blood spatter ALL OVER the cage. On the floors, the walls, on her food bowl. There was no blood on her, nor could I find any cuts or bleeding on her body (and she is pure white) I even checked in her mouth and found nothing.

Any ideas? It was not a few drops, it looked like a murder scene.

She's about 2 years old. Her cage mate passed away on Friday, but it was a peaceful in her sleep passing, although unexpected, so she is now alone.

I had something like this happen to me recently and in my situation it turned out to be a pyometra, if she's not spayed please keep a very close eye on her genitals to make sure she isn't bleeding from there

That much blood was likely a cut on a toe, tongue or ear....they bleed so much it looks like a bloodbath. Sometimes it's such a tiny cut you can't see it the next day. If she's ok now, no fresh blood found it was a passing thing. With pyometra it will continue and worsen.
