So, was hoping Pixel would lose this habit...but doesn't seem to be happening.
I have never fed either of them through the bars and he will never bite when I put my hand in the cage or when he's outside with me, but when he's inside his cage and you put anything of you (clothes or skin) near the bars he will grab and bite. I recognized the grabbyness from a female I had years ago who became very aggressive and "tested" by simply touching his toes and he definitely tried to grab my finger and bite me and my boyfriend and I have both had clothing we're wearing get close and he'll grab ahold of it and bite too.
The thing I find odd, is it's nothing else. I was curious and held my closed water bottle up to the bars and at first he went for it, but then stopped and just kinda looked at me....So, it's US or something that smells like us. I'm confused. I've had rats previously who would bite through the bars, but that was my own stupidity for usually feeding them through the bars or the occasional aggressive one...but Pixel makes no sense to me and I'm wondering if this is something that can be stopped or that I should be worried about it continuing?

Thanks!

A lot of my rats do this...Twiggy is one...go near enough and little hands come out and grab your clothes they grab on with their teeth and pull. I had rats grab my fingers and take them into their cage...just go with them and they''ll let go.

hmmm interesting lol It always just looks like he's gunna bite lol Oh well, he's letting me give him scratches and head rubs so I'm happy haha
