Someone suggested to me a while back that I could try getting a product called Bi-Odor Waste Deodorizer ( link here:http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2753505) to try to cut down on odor for the rats. I guess it's a product for ferrets, but is it able to be used for rats as well?

I don't know if this product could be safe for rats or any animal for that matter. Do you think it works? Do you think it's something worth trying?

It has to make you wonder HOW it changes their urine output (im assuming its used to make pee smell less) and what it does to their little kidneys....

Looks like a very bad idea.
We know of all kinds of products made and sold for pets that are very, very harmful ... from cedar and pine shavings to several types of rat foods that contain cancer causing chemicals.
This may be another dangerous product, regardless of their claims.
Sounds very suspicious to me.

I personally would not go there Riana. Unless the product is something being prescribed, to my rats, from the vet... nothing goes into their little systems other than organic fresh fruit, veggies, lab blocks and distilled water.

Always remember that we live in a capatalist society where making money is at the top of the totem pole. I am highly skeptical of anything which suggests or promises changes to an organism which is "normal" and healthy.

I do not believe that your rats stink. Ferrets can smell really vile, at times, but I have the feeling that the company, pushing this product for other animals, is doing so only for the financial benefit... and not because the rats would ever, seriously, need something like that.

Corn chips and grape juice? God blesses every household that can boast those two WONDERFUL smells!!!! :love6:
