Beauty's Lump (good-ish news)

So I've been checking on Beauty's little lumpy bumpy every day since it was discovered, and this morning I noticed that it seems to be coming to the surface, and it kinda looks like it's gonna be just an abscess!

So.. Should I try to pop it or let it do that on its own? Do I need to hold off the intros for even longer, until it heals? What's the general care of an abscess?

I would do warm compresses everyday to try and pop it then keep it clean. Ya, I would probably hold off on intros, the less stress right now the better.

Umm.. Can you or someone kinda walk me through on how to do a "warm compress"?

Soak a towel in very warm water (not HOT), and squeeze out the water so it's not dripping everywhere. Press the towel onto the lump for a few minutes, as long as your rat will sit still for. You'll have to repeat this a few times a day, until you can pop the abscess.

Once it pops, you can take a q-tip and clean it out, using water in a syringe to flush it.
