Pew! :sick2: Kaina stepped in some fresh poo, and in an attempt to wipe it off...she covered herself more in it..with all the squirming.

Is there a way I can give her a quick bath to take away the stench?

EEEEW.
I have no idea what to do but eew, eew...I'm off to change the litter boxes haha.

Poor you, poor Kaina. I just take a bowl with lukewarm water and a face cloth, dip the rat in the water and wipe with the cloth. Dry rattie. Pictures? I love wet ratties.

I would get a damp warm cloth and wipe her off! I don't like outting them in water in fright water will ghet in the ears!

I only have a couple of inches of water in the bowl. That's also how I wash my older gentlemen (penis plugs) and the ones with HED actually seem to enjoy the water massage. lol

I use baby wipes too, love 'em! I use the Natural Care so they don't have any alcohol or yucky chemicals. My girls like them too.

But even on fur? Don't we have to rinse them after?
I have the wipe's "pamper's baby wipe's/ sensitive", ok I will use the wipe's from now on if their ok. I was hoping to make her smell good and not just wash the doo doo off. *lol*

lol Yea I use them on their fur. If they're good enough for my baby's butt, they're good enough for my rats :) They don't smell great, but as soon as that smell wears off, the rats have their natural rat smell back. Mine smell like toast...haha Is that weird?

I generally look at my rats the same way I do my cat (or any other self-cleaning pet) - the only time I'd give them an actual soap-and-water bath was if they had a skin condition that warranted it, if they could no longer clean themselves in their old age (which from what I gather is common in rats), or if they had something on their fur/skin that I didn't think would be safe for them to clean off on their own. Any other time, a rub-down with a baby wipe is plenty. As opposed to my dog, who gets a bath every two months whether he likes it or not.

They must be very sneaky about it though! I saw Mackenzie doing it once last week and that's the only time I've ever seen it out of my almost 4 years having rats. Weird.
