In January, I noticed a small bump on Badger's side. Like a small wound. I kept it clean, and kept an eye on it. It seemed to go away. About a week after, it returned and scabbed over. It seemed to be healing on it's own so just kept an eye on it. Soon, instead of going away, the scab seemed to grow. Eventually the scab fell off (?) and turned into a red circle where no fur would grow. About the size of a dime.

The wound never bleeds, and though it looks raw, with closer looks it's solid with skin over it.

We took her to the vet at the beginning of February and he told us to keep watching it and keep it clean. She was assigned to doxy/baytril because of a URI and he said that should help her with the wound, but it doesn't seem to be. It stayed the same up for a while, but I was gone for a week and when returning home last Wednesday, we noticed the scab seems to be growing/expanding (infection not being fought off?) up her side even further.

She began to develop a couple tumors last month. They're stable right now and don't seem to be bothering her.

She is not scratching at her wound.
She keeps it clean.
She's eating/behaving normally.
Remy and Freya don't bother with it.
No signs of pain.
URI has improved.

She's going back to the vet next week for more baytril/doxy but I'm really unsure about this thing on her. It's hard to get pictures because she's squiggly, but I managed to get one.

That does look awful... poor girl. The last time I saw something slightly similar, it was a malignancy on my mom's rat. I wouldn't mess with it.

Okey. I haven't been too worried about it since she seems really not phased, but since it started creeping up her side even more I thought I should post before it completely consumes her and she's just a waddling red thing. I might give her a little hair cut so I can get a better look at it. If I do I'll post more pictures.

ETA: According to her guessed age by the humane society we adopted her from, she is 2 years old this month!

:hurray:
