Bad rexzilla

So Fabian was on the floor, and I had the space open where the new guys usually roam, I did my typical play noise and his reaction was not what i expected. He chomped into my knuckle and I swear i heard and felt it hit the bone

The pain was so intense i could cry. It made that finger and the one next to it hurt so bad I couldnt stand it.

Such a little mark can cause a lot of pain LOL

You can see it swelled up instantly.

He could smell the newer guys on the floor since i had the "typical" way moved around with the coroplast wall, and it stressed the boy out.
He is Fredericks brother the one we lost shortly after his neuter in december, and I have concerns if i can neuter them. I am gonna email about the implant or other options. Or i may have to chance and see if it is a fluke with fred or runs in the family. Gonna watch him for a few days and see how it goes.

I am thinking about putting their out time in the living room only and getting a play pen for them to have it in, so they can be out without other rats smell. I will see how it goes though.

Ouch Ouch double ouch. I have not been bitten by rats very often....Only by one large unneutered male who chomped down very hard....People laughed at me when I said it felt like it went to the bone...Hurt worse then anything......

I think a playpen in the other room might be a good idea....looking into having him neutered would also probably be great. But I certainly can understand how you feel.....

So it is still swollen and tender but not as painful as it was, it seems the swelling is going down and now the sore looks like a paper cut LOL I can see the bruising deep under the skin so he must of really jarred it around.. bRAT.......

I called my dr just to see if they suggested anything, and of course panic hits them. You must go to a walk in clinic asap. I said lady, I have had these rats as pets for months, they are not nasty rats and they are healthy. So I do need an updated tetanus shot so i will have to go get it since i have no clue, when i had it last, Cant wait to hear my dr after this one LOL i dont think she knows i have rats at home. Granted I know the risk but geez dont freak out like i just had a toe bitten off.

lol I've noticed a lot of docs get freaked out. My doc doesn't like rats but she certainly doesn't act like I could get the plague. lol

I seriously think the panic would of been less if I told them my dog bit me or my cat It is still swollen but that is all you can see the sore is about gone and other than swelling you cannot tell he nailed me so hard....
