Baby rat help!!!

"Most of them have a yellowey crusty layer over their anus!! Is this normal? There are a couple excreting browny colour substances...this normal? I think i rubbed off one of the crusty yellow things thinking it was a little droplet...next time i looked it was bleeding Please help...should I bathe it? Why is it bleeding?? xx"


Any ideas? They're 11 days old today...

Probably is just poop and if she tried to clean it off that made it bleed.

Having read it again I sorta agree >.< Sorry I posted without really thinking but I was just scared it would be a sign of something much worse. I hope they are just starting to poop on their own and that's all it is...

'S okay - I remember mine doing odd coloured poops at that age as well. I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah it's just the crustiness and bleeding that got me...

Crustiness maybe dried poop and she picked it off and it bled a bit? Or is the blood actually coming out from inside?

She tried to clean a bit away and made it bleed so I'm assuming she accidentally broke the skin herself. I bet she'll be relieved to hear this!!!

I want to add that it might be diarhea and possibly early signs of MC... not to be a downer but she should be on the lookout for it.

At that age baby poo isn't completely "solid" anyway. I doubt it's MC as the person is in the UK and it sounds like it could just be normal baby poop.

MC is very uncommon in Europe, from what I hear.

At 11 days, baby poo is liquid, since they haven't started eating solids yet (I'd be worried if they DID have solid poop!). I'd be concerned if the babies still had runny poop at 2.5 - 3 weeks, though.

Yeah they're not even 2 weeks old yet, and we don't get MC here, it's extremely rare. These guys are all non high-white too, just regular hoodies and barebacks I'm betting she just didn't wet the tissue or whatever when she was cleaning the bub, which made it bleed. They'll be ok
