So I've noticed since I got Ash he's been sneezing a little bit. At first I just though he had some new home sneezes, but it continued.

The odd thing about it is it's only when he's in the cage.

When he's out with me either playing or sleeping on my lap there's no sneezing what-so-ever. He has no breathing problems (not labored, no clicking, and no sound of fluid in his lungs) and no porphyrin.

I don't think it's his bedding (fleece) because when he's out with me I have some on my lap that he sleeps in. And I removed the litter thinking maybe it was making him sneeze.

Any ideas?

If he's only sneezing in the cage, I'd check to see what else in the cage could be setting him off. Have you tried Benedryl?

Haven't tried that, no. Hmm...

The only thing I could think of in his cage is the bedding and litter. The only other thing would be his brother. But I cant imagine Rory (or Badger, but this started before he arrived) would be causing it.

How much/what type of Benedryl would I give him? He's about 140g.

I pm'd you earlier Tarah about the sneezing. My guy came from the same house but the other litter. He wasn't sneezing the first time we went to pick him up, but was a few weeks later on the day we brought them home. The woman we got them from apparently had Ash's mother to the vet and the vet said nothing was wrong. I found echinacea seemed to improve the sneezing. I tried a humidifier and steaming in the bathroom as I have a wood stove going constantly. But neither made any difference.

My guy is fine when he is relaxed or asleep. It is when he is up and running around that he sneezes. And it isn't big wheezy sneezes, nor are they wet at all. Just more like a ticklish sneeze.
