Hello!

I recently adopted two baby rats (Basil and Dawson) for my love, Algae.. They were both supposed to be female but turns out, one of them is a boy! I feel like I've gone through an unplanned pregnancy LOL. I'm considering keeping him (as the bonding process has already started) and getting him a friend, as he is highly social. I'd *really* prefer not to rehome him. This, however, would mean I need to upgrade my CN.

Is anyone looking to downsize their Critter Nation? Located in Chicago, and am looking for a Critter Nation Add-On Unit. Please let me know!

Thanks for reading!

You could just get him neutered. =) Dr. Anita Kuhnle in Arlington heights does amazing work, and it's only about $100, which is barely more than you would spend on the cage, and then they could all live together...

or you could get the girls spayed ... spaying has several health benefits

mixed groups are great :)

Having 2 intact sexes in the same household is an accident waiting to happen
Rats are very smart and very motivated when someone is in heat .... and people are not perfect 100% of the time.
