My rattie Jazzy is 2 1/2 years old. We had a tumor removed in Jan, and again in March, and now it is back, more spread out. So, I have decided to forgo another surgery as I'm sure it will recur yet again. She also is showing some hind end mobility issues, and although she can still get around, she is not using her hind end normally.
SO, can I give her any meds to improve her lot in life? Is Prednolisone the drug of choice? I'm a bit worried about giving a steroid with tumors present as it suppresses your immune system.

Our HED boy is on a mix of glucosamine and fish oil for his weakening back end. He seems to respond to the fish oil better, but his symptoms are more neuro than arthritis related.

I would try the metacam. There have been some findings shown that metacam can shrink some timings. But long term use of metacam can be hard on the kidneys.

I second the fish oil/glusosamine. From my experience if you can feel the tremors in the muscles (neurological) then the fish oil works best but there is no harm in giving both to see if there is any improvement.
