I just got a training clicker to start seeing if any of my rats can be trained to do anything interesting. Unfortunately, my most clever rat Moose is almost definitely deaf (I've snuck up behind her while she was sleeping with a power drill, and she's the only one that is indifferent to the vacuum, or the sound of soda cans opening), so I imagine training her would present a challenge.
Any ideas on any other cues I may be able to use with positive reinforcement?
Just to be clear, I'm not gonna go all tiger mom on them and expect them to be rockstars, especially not Moose. She's extremely stubborn and a little crazy. She refuses to sit still while shoulder riding and is not afraid to leap without looking, off of couches and tables, into giant fish tanks... I suspect deafness would not be her most significant barrier to training.
