Owl has had a strange lump on her head for a few, or several months. I never really worried about it, and I still don't. It is not solid, nor hard..when I touch it, or push on it, it just flattens. It doesn't seem to bother her either. It just seems like a pocket of air beneath her skin.

Any ideas?

My Stella, also a hairless, has something similar. The vet told me to watch it and to bring her back if it gets bigger. So far, so good. Do you have easy access to a good rat vet?

It kind of sounds and looks like a lipoma (a harmless little lump of fat), which I've never seen or heard about in a rat but my Barret has something exactly like that on his back so I'm checking into this post to view the answers!

Just a note to all, if rats are like humans in this way, pushing on a tumor can cause metastasis of the cancer. So light touches are recommended when assessing a lump, for people anyway.

Hope all is well :)
