Well, Mr. Wallace Stumptail got me again. And this bite was a bad one.
He bit me on my wrist, and his bottom teeth cut about a half inch gash right across the inside of my wrist. He nicked my radial artery and I was spurting blood all over my kitchen floor. I am not normally squeamish around blood, but when you see your own wrist literally spurting that much blood, it's hard not to feel wobbly. I'll admit I was pretty scared.
Gladly it's bandaged and under control now. Whenever someone asks what happened, though, I feel bad saying "I got bit by one of my rescue rats." Especially with all the negative media they've been getting lately.
Needless to say, Mr. Wallace Stumptail is getting neutered on Tuesday March 11th at VCA Anderson in Lakewood. The vet says she's done about 30 rat neuters before, so hopefully that's enough experience... She's the only one who would do it for less than $300.
He was doing so well... I thought we could forgo the neuter, and then THIS happened. /sigh
