Annabelle's behaviour change is confusing me ... is it good?

Over the past week (and a couple weeks post-spay), Annabelle went from "I'll bite hard on anything in front of my face" mode to being ... strangely mellow. She was so extremely bad at lunging at treats (I'm certain that she was going for my fingers on purpose) that I actually gave them to her through the cage bars (not the best habit, I know). Now she isn't grabby for treats at all! She's become rather polite.

She's currently curled up on my lap and accepting head rubs and back strokes - no fuss or fear poos like she usually does. Did the spay work in calming down her temperament?

Usually whenever I had an aggressive rodent that suddenly became mellow, it was because they were sick. But her incision looks like its healing fine, and she seems the same physically ...

Or maybe she was a lucky one who had an excess of hormones causing her aggressive behaviour...the timeline is right for a hormonal change after her spay. Enjoy it

Ooooh, that would be lovely! The main reason for her spay was to prevent mammary tumors ... but I was hoping that a nice side effect would be a decrease in her aggression. Keeping my fingers crossed that this mellowness isn't a fluke - if this keeps up, maybe she won't be a solo rattie for much longer.

I did have one female calm right down after her spay. It could very well be the spay or Annabelle is completely happy and content at home with you.
