So, I've introduced the new neutered boyos, Archie and Roland, to my older girl, Kiki. Kiki is completely dominating them! If they get too close, she turns around and kicks them in the face with both back feet! David opened the top of the cage to get them out, but Kiki squeaked at them, and they meekly ran back downstairs. I've never had three rats before, is this degree of initial ferociousness normal?

Kiki, by the way, is having a whale of a time. She's hopping around like a mad thing, and nuzzling up against my chin and bruxing as hard as she can. I don't think she's ever had as much fun as she is doing chasing and kicking the boys. But if she's not biting, then she's flirting, right? The boys don't look puffed up or tense, just a bit oppressed.

I'm going ahead and guess that Kiki is not spayed. She's all excited cause she thinks she's got boys for the "deed". :giggle:
Her back kicks is part of her seducing dance... sounds like things are going good. The boys will soon come into their own and won't let her treat them as such.

Yep, she is unspayed - my vet has spayed lots of rabits and guinea pigs, but no rats, so she didn't feel confident enough to handle Kiki. I really should've donated poor Agnes' body to science, but I wasn't thinking straight at the time.

But I know for sure Kiki is really looking forward to them getting the courage up to make the first move! Agnes used to, um, mount her, and after a few seconds she'd realise nothing was happening, and kick Agnes off. When the boys first turned up, Kiki's ears were wiggling so fast, I thought she'd take off. And I know the boys are keen on her too, I've found Roland a few times lying in the stinkiest puddle of wee he can find, making himself smell extra-sexy for her.

So maybe I should get them some roses and a little bearskin rug, just to break the ice...

I have a spayed girl in my cage of all boys and the back kick in the face is definitely normal. After my boys excitement of a girl wore off everyone got along great and one of them treats her like his wife, is ALWAYS by her side.

Good luck with intros!
