Am I over reacting to odd behaviour?

This morning my boy Thief was sleeping in a different part of the cage, not a big deal. Then as they both get free rein to run around in the morning, I was shocked to see Thief come up to the couch and fall asleep on the arm rest. In the open.

So back story, he's a great boy and explores everywhere, he likes attention but after 20seconds he leaves to do his own thing.

So this was very untypical, he let me pet him for a long time and even handle him and place him on my lap. The whole time he was just relaxed and complacent. I can't tell be he feels a little cool to the touch, but I might be wrong about that.

This is not like him at all. Should I be worried??

How old do you guess Thief is now?

Boys usually will settle down and some can get quite lazy and complacent after a certain age. Some never do and are like girls all their lives but most boys settle :)

I have no idea how old is he, I grabbed him and the basil and the little girl (that you had picked up from me at the subway) about maybe late August?

It's just weird, he never comes out in the open to sleep and never lets me handle him so easily and not move. I don;t know, I'm watching him and put him with his brother under some pillows. And I put a heating pad out in case he was cold.

It sounds like he's happy and relaxed and content, not sick. Puffed up fur, eyes half open (not the sleepy look), lethargy, are all signs of potential illness. He sounds like he trusts you. I have lots of boys that will do that now. Some take awhile to get to that stage. Any pics of him when you first got him? Maybe we can give you a rough idea on ages? Or were they young like the wee girl?

No the girl was the smallest but they werent to much bigger. I just got back in from going out and found him asleep on the chair in the open.

See I know I'm a worry wart, but he just doesn't do this it's different behaviour then I've seen of him before.

His eyes look good and his fur isn't to puffy, he's just sleeping or trying to sleep I dunno. I send you some pics of him now if that helps, I do have some early ones but thats when I got a camera lol.

Sometimes a change in behaviour is indicative of something else going on, especially if your gut instincts is telling you this as well. You could always bring him in for a vet check if you are really worried.
But, like shelagh mentioned, boys do this like this at around a year old. They start to prefer to lay close to you or even on you. This is why everyone labels boys lap rats.
