Ahh Crap!!! Maggie has another tumor!! ugh..

So my maggie is about 1 year and somewhere between 4 and 6 months. Shes has a tumor near her groin thats the size of a large marble, it feels like it just hanging, I can put my fingers completely around it its been there for about 2 months..if its growing its growing VERY slowly. And tonight theres a lump on her elbow thats about the size of a big almond and I swear it wasnt there 2 days ago!

I have NO idea what I am to do as I dont own a car and the vet is 2 hours away(ottawa)

There IS a vet here where I take them when they need anti-biotics and check ups but they do not do small animal surgery there, just dogs and cats. Not to mention this is the WORST timing.. low on cash

I hope it grows slowly and hopefully it can be removed when you have a bit more money. Poor girl. ;(

Ugh.. dont know how this is going to work, Im on EI now because I worked at a store that they recently chose to shut down. She I wont have hundreds of dollars for this operation for weeks.. and iven when and if I get the money.. I have no way up to ottawa I dont think.. not to mention Id have to stay up there all day cuz its not like I can go back home then back up again when shes done. And Ive been planning a trip with my friends, we're leaving in about a month(boyfriend is staying home with rats).. so thats more costs

..blah this is quite a fantastic situation.. :gaah:

If the tumors get bigger I have no choice but to get them removed.. ugh.. I think as long as I live in Pembroke no more rats.. its too crappy without the means if they need any type of immediate surgery..

Im PRAYING they grow slowly! if and when I get money maybe I can pay off my boyfriends mom.. maybe she wont mind.. my mom would get aggitated at the long drive.

Im terrified, this will be the first surgery ever for one of my rats. Does anyone know of a GOOD small animal vet IN OTTAWA that does rat tumor removals and Spays? I dont know any.. I dont want to take the chance of someone sho has barely done it and have maggie pass away.. I would feel like a murderer!

Are you sure it's not an abscess? That's a prime spot for it.

The elbow or the groin? If it is and doesnt go away I still have to have it removed right? cause infection is sitting in there? they are both very hard. the one on her elbow is perfectly round and feels like its attached to her muscle or arm bone. the one on her groin is miss-shaped and long but I can pull it away from her body and can feel my fingers on each side....

We used to go to Carling Animal Hospital, but I found them too expensive. We are now going to the Lansdowne Animal Hospital to see Dr. Z. We haven't been there long, but so far I like him, and I find it affordable. It was 45$ for Cookies appointment, and he quoted us around 175$ for a mammary tumor removal on her.
