 Just a feel good story, for a little cheer, on such a somber thread.

In the beginning of May, Izzie suddenly developed kidney problems, we believe. She is 2 1/2 years old now, and a few weeks before had a couple of tumors removed. She had been doing fine after that, until suddenly she stopped eating, drinking, and essentially, moving. For two days we let her lie in peace, thinking that she would pass away at any time. She was lethargic, unresponsive, and had some problems breathing. Then, on the third day, I thought her suffering was far too great for me not to do anything. I forcefed her (via syringe) a little bit of water, and some baby food mixed with water. I only got a couple of mililiters into her in a few hour period. The next day, I gave her more, and the day after that, some regular baby food. About one week after we thought - knew - she was going to die, she stood up. And then she pooped. It was amazing! LOL.
Now, a few weeks later, Izzie has lost some muscle mass but she is just a little trooper. She trucks around with her sisters, occassionally falling over when she scratches herself. She still gets supplemental food and we have her separated, but whenever the other girls are out she's right there with her sissies. We have no idea what happened. Our Vet said that sometimes they recover from kidney failure. I don't know, but I thank God that my boyfriend and I did not euthanize her. Just food for thought.
