We adopted two baby boys 2 weeks ago and one of them sometimes makes such odd sounds. He was sneezing a bit at first. I watched him and the sneezing has stopped, but every once in a while, he makes these odd noises. I think I saw him coughing briefly once (looks like a hiccup) and then last night, he made a few quiet chirps. Sometimes mades this odd sound like he has something in his throat (is that grunting?) - I can't describe it. But it doesn't happen often and he seems healthy other than that. I assumed because he was a baby that he would have come to us healthy, but maybe I should just take him in to be sure. Do you agree? I'm new to rats, so I'm learning as we go. Also, is there a way to be sure he doesn't pick something up at the vet itself (like lice or mites, etc)? I appreciate your advice :) One last question - We also want to get the boys neutered.
